In the investment world, the focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria has generated a hot debate. However, as sustainable investing has gained ground, so has resistance against it. Therefore, in early December 2023, a group of ESG advocates announced a more than $10 million USD campaign in response to growing opposition. This phenomenon, called the anti-ESG movement, reflects an organized and well-funded reaction by responsible investment advocates.
